Write A Business Plan Proposal

Starting a home business or small business you certainly need to write a business plan proposal. You can put together a “one pager” plan to give you a guide line and then you merely assemble each step by giving more details.

Through my history and business start ups, I’ve found the best way to make sure your business will be triumphant is to create a simple business plan outline to guide you. You don’t need to write a thesis but you can make it a page or so to have a trail for what you need and where your business is going.

Everyone likes a step-by-step, so your business plan should pretty much be a step-by-step for you to follow and for probable investors to be more at ease about.

This will help you know what the cost will be as you grow and how much you need to be charging customers when you open your doors.

This one page plan should include info about your main competitors. Because do not think for a moment that your competitors are going to let you just walk on into the industry. You should want them around and I’ll even show you how to leverage your competition in future.

The key here is that the businesses that fail do so because they are not carefully planned out. Certainly avoid this simple mistake!

Define your business objective in a sentence or two. If this is impossible for you or you find yourself saying, “it’s complicated,” then think your business over and simplify the purpose. Think about what is the actual trade; what are you giving in exchange for money ultimately!

Are you needed? Do you have a market and why do you think they are your market and need your product or service.

In specific sentences write out where you’ll be in a year, three years, and five years!

How will you fund your business, your job, savings, loans, investors, family, and friends? Remember you need wood to keep the fire started and going.

Do you have equipment and all the things you need for daily operation?

Who is your target customer? Detail them. Teenagers who wear Nikes is a detailed type of customer.

Who are you big and small competitors? And what makes you different than your competitors?

Will you get office space or create office space at your home?

How much income will you need to bring home to survive and still provide for your family?

Once again, this is just a partial list, but there are enough questions here to give you a good idea of what you’ll be facing with a new business and the costs involved.

These are certainly a good start off list of things to consider and write in your business plan. Be it for a small business or a home business a basic outline will be crucial to your success.

Take the time now to write a business plan proposal, it is essential to your successful home business. We all remember the famous quote that says, “Those who fail to plan, plan to fail.”
