How do you stand out in the crowd of business owners in your niche?  This is a common question.  When you’re in MLM or you have an Internet marketing business, or a traditional business, how do you become the Google Inc., the Michael Jordan, the Tiger Woods, and the Wal-Mart of your market, industry, or niche?

You have to do a few things; but when it boils down to it, you need to have two basic possessions!  You need uniqueness and you need a knowledgeable skill set.  The bottom line is that it takes knowledge of business and marketing to excel.  What is knowledge, it’s “know-how!”

“But Antonio, I have a Business Administration degree and a Marketing Degree.  I know how.” Have you ever wondered why Michael Jordan became the greatest basketball player and athlete of all time?  There were guys who could play like he played; but he added more to the game.

His skills were superb, his knowledge of the game was elite, and he brought his own personal flavor.  I never forget how they described him on his “Come Fly with Me” tapes; they said he wore the wrist band on the forearm.

The average guy wore it on the wrist.  That was a new style to the game and to the NBA league.  He wore the baggier shorts than the rest of the guys in the 80s; you know Magic Johnson and Larry Bird were still wearing the tight shorts; Mike had the baggy cooler attire.

Michael showed up to the NBA all-star game with a gold chain necklace in the dunk contest; and he loved and smiled at the kids and fans, exhibiting excellent charisma.  He was so well liked at one point people really wanted him to run for president of the US.

So am I telling you to get a wristband, baggy cloths, and a gold chain?  Absolutely not, unless that’s your style already

What I am saying is for you to stand out in a crowd, a business crowd; you first must learn how to MARKET yourself.  It is not enough to graduate from college put on the old white shirt, blue tie, dark blue suit, and some loafers and head into a job interview with a nervous smile.

You have to have absolute knowledge and understanding of your craft, be it your business or career.  You have to become the expert.  People should be coming to you for your expertise as they came up to King Solomon for his wisdom.

Then, you may ask, what makes them come to YOU besides you being an expert (because every crony out there including me can claim to be an expert)?  Your uniqueness, your style, your personality, or as the youngsters (including myself) say, your “swagger”

When you learn how to truly market yourself based on your knowledge and your personality, you’ll then begin to separate yourself from the average Jane’s and Joes in the business crowd you’re in.

That principle is absolutely essential to taking your unique personality and actually turning it into MONEY, which most people never figure out how to do.
